School not accepting resignation or clearing dues

hello sir, i worked in a private school for 24 years aprrox and now bcz of changed working conditions i want to resign. i had a bad encounter with the incharge in january so i stopped going to school due to mental trauma and gave a month notice today that i will resign on 31 march. during this period i am not going to school so today when i went to give notice i was told that it is not valid as you are not coming to school. please help if i am wrong with this as these are unpaid leaves and what should i do next

You should send a mail for resignation to your compamy's HR as per the terms of resignation as mentioned in the letter of your employment. Along with that send a copy of your resignation through a registered post as well.

In case the company does not accept your resignation even after you have taken these steps, you may issue them a legal notice through a lawyer.
