Regarding document tempering what to do

I work in CAG department as an Auditor. My orders were passed directing to post me as a PA to Dy. Direcotor. This order was on noting sheet and no copy of the order was given to me. I Suspected it to be an illegal order because Auditor and Personal Assistant to Dy. Director are very different designations. So I Scanned that noting sheet and filed an RTI asking the provision with which this order was placed. Department Officials intimidated me to withdraw my RTI with due apology by saying that they will terminate me as this is a case of Official Document Tempering under Official Secret Act and CCS Conduct Rules. I denied to withdraw my RTI. Then They issued me SCN asking why i took that scanned copy in unauthorized manner and why disciplinary action should not be taken against me. I asked 3 days time but they asked for the reply immediately.I explained my actions and apologised and assured i will not do it again. I kindly ask you are my actions illegal and any further suggessions ??

No the said action was not illegal as the document was addressed to you and you did a legal thing just to secure evidence on your part. Also, you can continue with the RTI.
