Please confirm : If i am eligible for gratuity

21-Jan-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
I worked in a reputed private school affiliated from CBSE . Its in Haryana.I worked continuously for 17 years on TGT grade (1998-2015). My Provident fund was getting deducted every month . I left my job voluntarily to take care of my daughter. But School didn't provided any gratuity benefits on Full & Final Settlement, which was done 4 years back. My appointment letter as a TGT grade teacher was issued on 20/08/1998. In that appointment letter, there is no clause related to Gratuity. Neither it says Gratuity will be given or denied. However her PF was deducted. I have the copy of appointment letter with me. I feel that i am eligible for gratuity and want to escalate this to DO office. With the above details, am i eligible for gratuity benefits?

Hello the benefit of payment of gratuity act is extended to teachers after 1997. since you have worked 1996 to 2015 you can address your grievance to District education officer or payment of Gratuity authority or Approach educational tribunal of your district. you can also quote payment of Gratuity amendment act 2009.
