Past Employer taking revenge by complaining to present employer

10-Jan-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
I had worked in a small startup in Delhi called for about 2 years. It was really bad working there. Everyone left. Now, since the truth has been publicised, the employer is restless and seeking to take revenge on us by filing legal notice against each of us for defamation. He might ask us to take down the reviews from the website or do something else. He even threatened to call my current company and bad mouth about me. I don't know what to do. How far it can go? What can I do to avoid any scenes. I live in Bengaluru, I can't take leave and goto Delhi for any court notice or something. I worried about my career life. Please help

You need to take care of this situation by sending him a legal notice wherein you will ask him to stop defaming you or to make a troublesome situation for yourself be it on personal or professional level otherwise you will take serious legal action against him. If he obliges to this notice then your issue stands resolved otherwise you should without giving a second thought shall come before the court for proper relief.

You have nothing to worry about since legally you are in th clear. Your former employer is trying to bully you by threatening legal action. Stand up to him especially if you are right about the abysmal work conditions at his place. It is only right to warn other about it.
