Notice period pay recovery | Legal notice received from the company

02-Sep-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
i have joined a company and left in two months because of bad culture and atmosphere. I handed over office assets and informed HR of my resignation but did not serve notice period of 90 days. I did not sign the appointment letter, Now they have sent a legal notice to pay off notice period dues(5lakhs), what should i do as next step ? What consequences will i face ?

I would advise you to immediately contact a lawyer and seek advise. You should get a reply sent to the legal notice within the stipulated time and comply. Further information and better particulars are required

It is advisable to send a reply to the legal notice stating your defence qua the same. Moreover acceptance of a joining letter is sufficient and merely because you did not sign it would not make your case strong for the reason you have accepted it and acted upon the same. However we need to strategise the defence otherwise the company may sue you before a court of law. For any further legal assistance please feel free to contact Thanks

First of all send them a reply to the notice claiming harassment and reasons for immediate leaving the organisation. Howsoever, I would be required to read your entire offer letter to understand the main issue.
