Is there any leave granted for relatives death

i need help with the following: I am working in a company and my father expires and i need to go out of bangalore as he stays there. I need to know what is the number of days i can get compensated from my employer without they cutting my salary. Is there an law which allows a particular leave like that. for immediate family members death or for relatives death.

There is no such specific definition about leave to attend death in law. But yes being a employee you might be aware about Casual Leave, Sick Leave, etc as per that you can apply for the leave and your salary will be not get deducted. As in your case as your father has expired so attend it as it is your duty as a son and also its your responsibility which your son will do you for tomorrow. Even if your company will deduct salary no problem you don't have to mind for it at this situation unless if is there any threat for your job if number of days of your leave increases.
