Is it possible to join govt post while being on temporary govt post

I am working as a temporary employee in a government organisation. We are fighting a case for the permanent approval of this post since in the rules of the organisation it is mentioned as permanent and rules itself are not clear, so higher authorities are not accepting. Can I join another govt job without resigning from here because in case we won the case i want to come back here. so is it possible to join govt post while being on temporary govt post at same time??
