Is it legal to start our own business while working fulltime

I was working with a well known travel company in gurgao and from ladt 8month but last week i have started my own website of travel to earn extra income and my plan is to promote my website in my home town because people there have less knowledge about travel. But today my company has temrminated me without any notice saying that u r doing the same line of business So i want to know is it legal that i can not start my own business i am working somewhere
Answer to your query depends on your contract with the company. Normally you are not allowed to do the same business outside the company which your company is also doing but to terminate the service they must follow the procedure. There has to be some inquiry after which they are supposed to serve a show cause notice. Abrupt termination without following the procedure is illegal.

In order to get an answer to that question the agreement that you signed with the company you worked with at the time of joining will have to be looked into. It is most likely that it will contain a clause prohibiting you from indulging in your own business in the same line in the form of a non compete clause. Had your business been in different line from the company it might not have been an issue but no company would allow you to do what you were doing.
