This is my response to you:
1. Have they sent you a legal notice?
2. You can check the employment bond that you signed if there was a reasonable amount to buy out the notice period;
3. If there is any clause emergency situation in your bond or the rule book of your employers handbook?
4. If you have a medical certificate then use that to lower their claim and ask them to settle the matter;
5. They will not pursue for long because in India civil matters take years to finalize;
6. If they file a case in Singapore then the situation will be different;
7. But nonetheless the suit for recovery is an arduous process and nobody likes to opt for it.
