How to get back my certificate from HR of the company

My certificates were taken by the HR's of pharma company for which I am currently working at the time of joining as a part of their HR policy. I am also doing msc distance education with this job. At the end of my msc when I requested for my certificates, they said no and spoke in a very inhuman and disrespectful manner. How do I get my certificates back? I also am thinking of leaving this job because I fear they might target me by giving me extra work and denying me a raise in future.
No need to visit the Labour court or any other court.
Get all your details in order, write a complaint in the police station as no one have the right to hold or keep your certificates as a guarantee or something else.
This is a very simple case of violating the law.
