How to deal with pseudonymous petition

27-May-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
I m an honest officer in telangana state govt. Some disgruntled elements have filed pseudonymous petition against me citing procedural lapses and corruption which are completely false. Our Dept vigilance wing has started preliminary enquiry. But such enquiry is completely defaming me in office.I want enquiry to be done to prove my innocence. But also want enquiry against pseudonymous petitioner who is trying to malalign my reputation.can I file defamation case against pseudonymous petitioner. What options do I have so that all facts come into picture . Also I suspect some colleagues in office who might have done it. I m completely disturbed.

Dear Sir,

First of all when you are honest then need not worry. Participate in the enquiry is a part of investigation to prove your innocence with all the evidence supporting your claim, if required you can take the assistance of a lawyer to support you in drafting and seek guidance regarding enquiry proceedings. But, unless you are proved innocent you cannot initiate proceedings under defamation law on those pseudonymous persons. Keep an active watch on the suspects and observe their moments in the office and if possible try to collect evidence against them, if you feel it is relevant for your defence. Please remember Straight Trees are cut down first, so if you are straightforward and honest you will be face all this issues but nothing can be proved against you, unless you are at fault.
