07-Oct-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
Hi, I was an employee of PayTM. The F&F sheet shared shows a deduction of 18% pertaining to notice period deduction. Notice period was of 60 days, I served for 18 days and paid for rest. Now they have deducted 28,000 against GST Is this legal? Can you help me here?

First of all let me clarify you that if you were an employee of Paytm then there exists an employer employee relationship and no GST can be deducted when this exists. Apart from that when you are getting salary from your employer then no GST can be deducted by employer but when incentives are given then GST will be deducted but the liability to pay tht tax is on your employer and not you. So it is not legal to deduct GST from your salary.
