Employment bond validity is valid or not

I joined an organisation in Feb 2018 with the bond of 2 years i.e till Feb 2020. But i left that organisation after 9 months i.e in Oct 2018 due to some family financial issues. Now my ex employer is asking for bond amount in august 2020 i.e. almost after 2 years and 6 months from the contract signing date.
Is that bond still valid?
