Eligiblity for 6 month maternity leave if I work in a private hospital

I work at private hospItal am i eligible for 6 months maternity leave, as i have availed leave from 24 january 2017, which is my delivery date. My Hr office says that they have not recieved any notification from govt but it is out in newspapers. Whom should i turn for advice. Thank you.
Regarding maternity leave in private sector. Earlier it was 12 weeks but now it has been increased to 26 weeks. Women working in private sector or public sector. It is up to two children only. So it is your entitlement he can not deprived you from your entitlement.
