Delay in government examination result what can be done

I had given an examination under government of assam on 28th february 2016. But the result is yet to be declared. I have contacted the department and they said that as the examination was conducted during the tenure of congress government the new government (formed on April 2016) has not given approval to declare the result. Its been more than a year now and from some sources I have come to know that the government is planning to cancel the process. What legal action can be taken against the department ..??
