It is difficult to provide any possible fitting answer to your query without going through the appointment letter, employer - employee contract and the legal notice which you have received recently from the side of the Company.
It is required from your side to give a proper fitting reply to the notice mailed by your previous organization to close this chapter otherwise this issue may escalate to higher level wherein you may face further difficulty in dealing the same.

You must rely that Letter, through an Advocate, with counter Notice to him by insulting, and using derogating language, and allegation the false and frivolous charges, else they may take any legal action against use, in terms of Civil and Criminal.

Increment is a privilege and not a right. Your increment will be granted if your appraisal is up to the mark. I am sure you were on probation, so unless your probation is regularised you will not get an increment either way.
Hire and fire policy of the company can not be challenged without reason.
As far as laptop is concerned it is a non issue.
Please connect with details.

Dear Sir

Thank you for your query. You have done the right thing. You can send them an official and strong email telling them that the laptop belongs to the company and not you. If they do not respond positively you can send a legal notice asking them to apologise. We can help you in both,

Please call us.

Thanks

Sanjeet
