Company asking for bond amount for resigning without notice

Hi I was working in it firm at the joining I signed bond of 2 years and If I leave from the company before I had to pay 1.5 lac to the company.after joining they sent me to the different city for working and there I had to work for 12 hours a day without any weekly off..i started calling my hr and sent mails but nobody responded after continuous followups nobody responded so I left company without resigning.now company lawyer sent one notice by saying that pay 1.5 lac because cheque got bounced.please suggest.

it is not clear as to how you left the company without resigning.

It is essential to review your appointment letter and bond to understand what case can be made out. Did your appointment letter / bond state that you could be sent to a different city? Were working hours specified? Generally these provisions exist in most appointment letters/bonds, hence one has to review the same before advising
