Can office management take action on hearsay evidence?

28-Jun-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
If one happens to come office drunk, at non-working hours and did no harm to anyone, can he/she be held accused if management wants to do something against them? Just because management has knowledge about it, what all can they really do? Also, some girl happened to be colleague just complained that we came drunk and met her. We want to file a defamation case as there's a no-reason-backed harassment accusation on us. The management has threatened us to work in this company for next 6 months else they would call the police and get us beaten up. The owner has confessed about giving bribe to police every month and having a lot of connections in govt administrations. I have all the things recorded with me in my phone.

Mere bragging about connections and other things doesn't makes anyone guilty. One has to prove by the way of circumstancial evidences that he or she has actually done it.
Now coming to the second point, despite you coming drunk on a non-working day and not harming anyone or anything still you are guilty of professional misconduct. And based on the same company has all rights to terminate your services at any point of time.
Thirdly, the company can't harass you for the act you have done and based on the same it can't compulse you to work for any period of time (6 months in your case). You are free to leave the company at any point of time and if they make any troublesome situation for you then you have full right to drag them before the competent court of jurisdiction.
Fourthly, at present you have no right to contest defamation case against your Lady colleague unless she publicly humiliate you for some absurd reason or for false allegations.
