05-May-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
Can a Nationalised Bank terminate service of a newly recruited clerk after 8 months(6 months probation+ 2 month extension) just by alleging that his work/conduct is not satisfactory and not upto the standard rquired by bank.As in appointment letter it was mentioned that " your confirmation in bank's service is after attaining required standard failing which bank may terminate your service". If not then what legal action can be taken against bank?

Banks have the right to terminate the employee during the probation, if he/she does not fit the position. As such, the probationary officer shall be required to work at 2-3 branches during the probation period.
