Can I take any action against the school for not taking any action ?

i am working in a school. A 11th grade student questioned my mothers dignity. he has accepted it as well. i had filed an official complaint to the School Authorities regarding the same. the harassed me more for filing the complaint. in the end they said that they wont take any action against the student. i want to know what action can i take against the school?
