Can I get job in replacement of my father after his death.

My Father worked in insurance company as government employee.But due to accident,he died in 2010.My elder brother is doing job.I am younger and I have completed my btech.Now can I apply for my fathers job?
First of all it depends on the service rules of a particular state, in your query you did not mention the sate name, and the rank of your grandfather in police prior to his death, as normal first the son is eligible to get this benefit, before approaching the court, just check the service rules..
