Can i get into politics while holding a private job

Dear Sir, I am working for an MNC in sales and marketing, I am interested in politics too. My question is being an employee of MNC can I simultaneously hold any position in any political party? Will it result in a legal complication?
Yes, you can join politics while holding a private job, but Politics is very time consuming and your company might have problems with it. Kindly check with your HR department as well. and the company bye-laws
