Can employer shorten notice period of employee/contract

Charity Foundation are hiring contract job. 1year and 4 months gone 9th nov. they decide to close the contract job. On 16th nov informing employee saying in 3 diff notice releaved on Condition 7 of the MOU that your job is terminated. as this being the last day. Even if we count Diwali Pressures Message could not be delivered up to 8th Dec the payment should be done. Condition 7 During your retainer ship with the Foundation, the Foundation will be entitled to terminate your services without assigning any reason, by giving you one month’s notice in writing or by payment of one month’s retainer ship fee in lieu of such notice. In the event of your desiring to leave the services of the Foundation, you shall give to the Foundation one month notice in writing or by payment of one month’s retainer ship fee in lieu of such notice. However, the Foundation may, at its sole discretion relieve you of your duties any time during the notice period, and in that event, you will be paid remune

This is my response to you:
1. This will depend solely on the employee agreement;
2. Approach a local lawyer and let him review your documents;
3. You can then send a legal notice;
4. Last option is to approach court as method of last resort.
