Can employer change in notice period during employment

26-Jun-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
on 25th of June my employer sent a email stating that effective 1st april 2018 they are changing the notice period company wide from 1 month to 2 months. My question is:- My offer letter mentions 1 month notice period. Can my employer change the notice period without taking consent from the employee. Dont they need to give some kind of advance notice before implementing the changed notice period. Can they really change the terms with 3 months back dated. If not what can be done to stop the employer.

Employer has to inform the employees before doing any such modifications and he can't do without bringing it to the knowledge of employees and such new rules should be known to the employees. if he has not done so then issue him legal notice through lawyer and drag him before Labour Commissioner then labour court.
