Can authority claim compensastion if i don't serve notice period

I m a MBBS doctor working under west Bengal national health mission as a contractual medical officer, I need suggestion regarding resignation of the job. I m frm bardhaman city at present. My primary engagement was till 31 march,I did not renew but did job in April got salary ,now given a prior notice ,if I will not be able to work during notice period should authority claiim one month salary or file case against me, I ve never signed any agreement paper at tym of joining.

Your employment in the government sector depends upon the rules and regulation of the government. If you were a contractual government employee and your contract of service has been expired then you are no longer require to serve a notice period.
