Can a person retain the post of pro-VC even after his retirement.

We have Pro Vice Chancellor in Central University of Himachal Pradesh who was to retire on 28th February , 2017 as he attained 65 years of age. But he confirmed himself coterminous with the term of VC. Now VC is due to retire after 3 years. My question is can that person retains the post of pro-VC even after his retirement.
