Asked to leave company due to less attendance can I get certificate

I have done internship for 6 months in a Corporate company and due to attendance shortfall was asked to leave - need a Work certificate or Service /Reference letter which they are refusing to give - is this correct ?

No, you cannot ask them for any kind of certificate as you have not worked there moreover you were asked to leave due to your irregularities. issuing a letter/certificate in your favour can cause problem to the company as its there liability of the company and the reputation of the company on stake.
