Requesting a legal advise
16-Sep-2023 (In Family Law)
My friend was in a relationship(no live-in, no sex) with a guy for 5-6 years. She used to feel lifeless since almost 2 years. She started liking one of her guy bestfriend and wanted to get into a relationship with him. She told her then boyfriend the truth and got into a relationship with her bestfriend. After an year or so this new relationship broke. Now, she decided she would marry the guy her parents get for her and is getting married in a month. The first guy is blackmailing her now and threatening suicide. Is it abetment of suicide to tell him the truth that she is liking someone else? Now if he comes to know about her marriage then he will again start blackmail and threatening. What is the best way for her to have a peaceful life ahead?
if he is only blackmailing she can file a complaint under 503 of IPC or he is blackmailing for money she can file a complaint under 383 extortion or is there any sextortion like he is having a picture of her is clicked she can file 354c,292 of IPC and can report this crime safely and with dignity.
