Procedure to appeal in order to reduce the maintenance amount

How can we reduce the maintenance amount? We have already given stay and revision application to district court but nothing has happened over it. We are not denying maintenance payment – but we cannot shell out 10K every month.
It depends under what provision maintenance has been awarded. If it has been awarded under section 125 Cr.P.C then the same can be modified under section 127 Cr.P.C on the ground of change of circumstances. If it has been awarded under section 24 of HMA then modification will also be done under the same provision.
