Hindu religion - re my cousin. She is homemaker for last 2 years. Took care of ailing mother who had rare disease who died last year. has10 Year old son. Married 12 years. Husband is physically, emotionally and financially abusive everyday. Threatens her not to give her money for her and household expenses. He is forcing her to take care of his mother. She is emotionally distressed as he puts her down and constantly harassing her mentally and emotionally. They own joint property in bengaluru and rent it out. The rent income goes to her account but he is not giving any money to her from his salary. Also threatening her that he will take control of the rent money by asking tenant to start paying into his account. What are her rights?

Your cousin can lodge a FIR under section 154 CrPC, for domestic violence, under section 498A of Indian Penal Code, (45 of 1860). Followed by a divorce petition under section 13B of Hindu Marriage Act, 1956.
