Legal rights if girl child is unmarried nd is working

22-Dec-2023 (In Family Law)
Can parents pressurise to get married to a girl child?? Is it regally right. ?? I m a girl aged 40yrs & is working in one small firm nd earning merely some amount so tht i can't become a burden on any of my parents. Living with them is by force nd by choice both. There son has left him due to transfer in job nd has not made any backup caretaker to look after them. Neither he gives time to intere in daily nuisance created in house due to my working nd marriage not done. Both the parents in tgere own way create physical nd verbal assault on me nd gives me mental agony . Kindly suggest me with correct legal advice so tht i can take my life decision. I dont want to get married now nd is currently spending mostly 95-98% of my earning on daily fooding nd look after of both my parents. Neither son nor his husband pay anything for daily needs or medicine. Kimdly post reply earliest. I earn only 12000/- per month. By working in pvt firm in lucknow

They cannot compel you to get married and you have full right to desist their demand of getting married. At any time they physically abuse you, pressurising you to get married, you can inform the women helpline by dialling 1090. They should approach the Court and seek maintennace from your brother.
