Legal options if dad is not giving share in property

My mom and dad are living separate. By cast we are jatt from Meerut city (UP). My dad don't want share his property. How to take legal action against my dad . My dad talk to me once or twice in a week.
If this property is the self-acquired property of your father, you cannot claim a share in it as a matter of right. However, incase that isn't the case and this property is ancestral property, you approach the court to seek your own share after partition.
