06-Jan-2023 (In Family Law)
My wedding was fixed, had a live in relationship.I took contraceptive pills many times and my health was affected bad. I truly gave a lot of effort to this relationship. Arguments used to happen but after every fight we used to forgive eachother and have intercourse. Wedding preparations started and just 3 months prior the wedding, we had a small argument again. This time it for my wedding gown . Fight increased and the parents got involved. Parents stay in another state. Next day we forgave eachother and solved the issue. Meanwhile his mother went and cancelled the wedding without asking me, my fiance and my parents. The wedding was cancelled. What legal case can I file because I feel betrayed, cheated, we were physical and I consumed contraceptive pills many times. I had bleeding and depression. I turned suicidal because he was breaking. I'm so sad that it stops me from marrying another. I wish to be back with him if he realises all the sacrifices and efforts I made .

Hi, sorry to know the sad state of affairs.

Please file an FIR in the Local Police Station of your Jurisdiction against your to be husband and his parents on the offence of Cheating, Criminal Breach of Trust, Act done with intent to prevent child being born alive or to cause it to die after birth, Cohabitation caused by a man deceitfully inducing a belief of lawful marriage, etc. If the police does not act swiftly in your matter, then you may file the complaint with the jurisdictional court in front of a magistrate. Before proceeding on the above, see if your to be husband is willing to marry you amidst of the opposition from his mother through a court marriage process. This would resolve your issue. Let me know if you need any assistance.

Dear Madam,
It is a deemed marriage as per Supreme Court Judgments thus you may exercise rights of a legally wedded wife. Otherwise you may file a complaint against him for the offences of rape, cheating etc.
