Does a 17 year old boy has rights to choose his own residence

Hi, A 17year old school boy wishes to stay in my home due to family issues at his home. I am 27 and We are not related. Does the boy have the right to choose his place of residence and am I legally right to give him refuge?
no, the 17 year old boy has no right to choose his home being minor, he can do so once he turns 18 which the the major age in india. you can also file a suit in the court asking for his guardianship as the child is facing family issues which is hampering his future.
