Complete removal of any sort of connections with my father

14-Oct-2023 (In Family Law)
I'm a 24 year old working male living with my parents. I live unhappily in my house as my father(unfortunately) & I have had arguments due to our differences in beliefs in moral values & life in general. He told me today that I could either live under him only if I choose to live my life according to his way or that I shall leave in 2.5 months. Now, I'll gladly leave his place, but I just want to make sure that I & him have no relations with each other in any manner(be it on the records or off of it). Is there any way that I could "divorce" my father or perhaps have a letter written & signed by both of us stating that WE ARE NO LONGER FATHER & SON, WE SHOULDN'T BE CONTACTED NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS TO THE OTHER PERSON. Say for funeral formalities or whatever.

Hi, It is sad to know the differences aroused between you and your father. Issues of such nature are common in this society. You may rethink on your decision. However still my response is as below with respect to your query.

There is no legal procedure involved in breaking relation with your father. There is no provision in personal laws to disown children or parents.
A declaration deed may be drawn up stating to the effect that you wish to have nothing to do with your father, and you may also publish the same in newspapers, but it is difficult to say what legal consequence that would have.
With regard to inheritance, you may choose not to claim any assets of your father after his death, and no law exists to compel you to claim your inheritance.
