Can a case of property be filed against the father

06-Jun-2023 (In Family Law)
My question here is, can I file a case against my father for property because he won’t help me with anything. My parents are divorced. They both have remarried. And my step mom has her own child. My father has never taken care of me as my custody was given to my mother. Can I still demand for the property as I was the first born?

It depends on the nature of the property. If the property is self acquired by the father, then your father has the right to transfer it to anyone. However, if it is an ancestral property, you have a right in the property by birth but the property will devolve only after the death of your father.
