Religion change from chrischian to Hindu

Sir, i Mrs. Sudha is married to a Christian guy before 8yrs but they following Hindu religion only and marriage is also is done under Hindu Marriage act
But now her son school admission is going on they are asking the father document in father's document it is mentioned as Christian so that can we give the child religion as hindu.
If possible what will be the legal procedure
1. Unless both male and female are hindus, their marriage can not be registered under hindu marriage act. So, your husband need to convert to hindu. otherwise the marriage is null and void.
2. Using marriage registeration cert. your husband can convert his religion.
