How to enforce cancellation of fir

I had lost documents for which i lodged a fir and then on finding them back i went to inform the police and gave them the application to stop the enquiry . How ever they didnt gave me any or proof of me stating them about fir cancellation was i supposed to get any proof
It is okay if the police officers have assured you then it is fine but if you still want some concrete proof then you can approach the High Court of your state under section 482 for Quashing the said FIR.
