Legality regarding getting Married
16-Oct-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I am a divorcee (was a love marriage) and now planning to get married again. In my last wedding when I asked for divorce I was slammed with false case of dowry, domestic violence, and many other things. Not only that my family was also accused in it. After few years of fighting the cases we settled down with mutual consent for divorce. Now I am looking forward to get married but my girlfriend is of other religion and I am Hindu. My previous experience has led me to being anxious about getting married again. I would like to know the options I have to avoid the same situation again where I can safeguard my self from above mentioned false cases. Are there any ways of doing written agreement before marriage or something about it?
There are certain safeguards you can take to avoid the situation which you have already faced and come out of your first marriage. In India the marriage is a treated as a religious bond between husband and wife and is not a contract except under the mohammedan law. But certain precautions you can take to atleast mitigate the risk
