I Filed Divorce, she filed DV & Maint, what to do now

we r Christians & live in Mumbai, the harrasment by wife forced me to take my 91 yr old mother back to Kerala and I filed divorce case at Kerala after 28 yrs of togetherness. I and my wife are sleeping in separate rooms for the last 2 years. I hv 2 daughters, I paid fees for 2 daughters till their Post Graduation,(Now age 26&24) both got jobs. Elder daughter's marriage conducted, but still staying with me. younger daughter resigned from job. All three with me, now staying in Govt accomodation. I want to change accomodation. She and children says, we will cm with you, till i get divorce order, we will be with you. my Wife is also working. she now filed DV and maint. case. my first hearing date of Divorce is on 2nd Nov. what should I do now. Kindly guide.

This is my response to you:
1. You will have to contest the matter;
2. You can still approach her and go for mutual consent divorce;
3. MCD is smoother and faster process;
4. Even in the first hearing the court will appoint a mediator and try to sort out the misunderstandings;
5. If they do not get resolved then after 6 months the court will award the maintenance and other custodial rights;
6. The court will then pass the decree of divorce;
7. This could take longer time as compared to MCD.
