How long does it take for a divorce to be final

My brother got married and took his spose to settle in Japan. After 7 days the wife forced him andncame back to paternal home. My brother returned back to Japan and tgen the wife fiked 498 a and domestic violence against hin falsely. Its been 3 years now the cases being fiked. How can this be resolved and if he returns will he not be able to go back to Japan?
Its a long drawn procedurewhich might take years to resolve, best is ask the elders and your brother to talk to parents of wife and wife and settle it over the table and file mutual divorce which will take 6 to 7 months to wrap up.
