Can my husband claim my property after divorce
07-May-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I am currently in the middle of a divorce and the house me n my husband lived in was bought by me and is registered on my name. I am also currently paying the EMIs of the home loan as my husband hasn't worked in several years. My in-laws had contributed 15 lacs as a gift at the time I bought it. The total value of the house was 65 lacs and other than those 15 lacs I have been paying the entire amount. Can my husband now claim a share in my house?
Thankyou for the query. Since the property is not a Benami property hence the husband can't claim the property. It is further suggested to coordinate with me in order to understand other legalities in regards to the property and the issue involved in it.
Else if the property is in your name and it is thereby earned by your financial sources then your husband cannot claim over the property.
