I have gone for a registry marriage recently amidst family & peer pressure. I am unhappy with the woman in question and sexually completely unattached to her. We aren't living together yet since the social marriage is still pending. Can I apply for cancellation of this marriage

yes you can. just file nullity petition against her in court. your ground would be of force and lack of consent. evidence of that pressure should be brought by you. for that part we need to talk. also you can ask for a stay on social marriage until nullity petition is resolved.

Dear Client,
As per the details provided by you my suggestions would be that as your marriage had been registered prior to the social marriage, your marriage must have been registered under Special Marriage Act so you can file a petition for dissolution of your marriage by a decree of divorce under the provision of Special Marriage Act or else you can also go for a decree of dissolution of marriage under mutual consent in case if your wife is willing to grant you the divorce. Although your marriage is not a socially marriage but it is a lawful and legal marriage as it has been registered.
