In a maintenance case in India, the term "contested allowed" generally means that the case was contested by one of the parties, and the court has allowed the claim for maintenance. This implies that the court has found you, the respondent (the person against whom the maintenance claim is made) to be legally bound to pay maintenance to the applicant (person seeking maintenance) based on the evidence and arguments presented before it.

Legally speaking, contested refers to a case or proceeding in which one or more parties dispute some aspect of the case, such as the facts, the evidence, the legal interpretation of the issue at hand, or the remedy sought. A contested case typically requires a hearing or trial in which each party presents evidence, testimony, and arguments in support of their position. The judge or adjudicating body then evaluates the evidence and arguments and makes a ruling or decision based on the applicable law and facts of the case.

In law, the nature of disposal "contested allowed" (in hindi, mamla sveekrit) generally means that the respondent (the party against whom the case is filed) has contested the allegations made against him by the applicant and has been successful in his defence. In other words, the court has found in favour of the respondent, allowing his argument and defence. As a result, the case is considered closed, and the respondent is no longer required to take any further legal action in the matter.

"CONTESTED AND ALLOWED" refers to that you have contested the case as a respondent and maintenance allowance order has been passed against you. Its better to confirm from your Advocate the quantum of maintenance you have to provide to the Petitioner.

It is dismissed but allowed and it has not been informed by your advocate. Your lawyer must have not taken proper steps to guide you properly. You can approach through another lawyer to get your remaining work done.
