What are my rights if during a peaceful protest I'm arrested?

18-Dec-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I've been participating in the ongong CAB/ CAA protests and I've noticed the police getting more and more aggressive each time. I want to know what my rights are as a citizen of India and as a woman if I'm arrested or taken into protective custody? What should I do? What kind of lawyer (civil or criminal) will I need at such a time? Thank you.

Police cannot arbitarily arrest when you protesting peacefully , there must be disturbance or apprehension to public peace from protestors, in such situations they can arrest , meantime police have powers and protective shield from governments to take action against them, if women arrested they must comply rules laid down in crpc, if they file false case you can move further step seeking action against them but it's all depends on facts and circumstances of each case and there actions, criminal lawyer can handle such matters
