The daughter-in-law made a false complaint against the mother-in-law

13-Aug-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Hi, The daughter-in-law made a false complaint against the mother-in-law, Father-in-law and Husband in Superintendent of police. Then local police called daughter-in-law and got her written complaint. In written complaint, she mentioned only father-in-law and husband. Based on this, police filed charge sheet on both father-in-law and husband. There is more contradiction between Superintendent of police complaint and local police complaint. This clearly shows that it is false complaint. So, is it possible for Mother in law to file FIR against daughter-in-law in police. If possible, under what and all sections police can file FIR against her. Thanks in advance…

First, the mother in law has to file a police complaint based on the facts. If she is a senior citizen then she can also file a complaint before the senior citizen cell. Father in law and husband also can file complaint based on facts.

According to the Supreme Courts judgment, a mother-in law can now file a Domestic Violence Case against her daughter-in-law. The court can proceed ex parte against you if the second intimation is served by a postman. If you dont appear in court, the judge will decide against you.
