No documents from my lawyer till date even after 20 days of arrest and

I'm fighting a case for my brother, as he is convicted under ipc 376,417, 420, my lawyer haven't given us any documents so far. He has filed a bail petition once which got rejected but still we have no documents yet from him. Is it normal? If not what are the documents he should have given us?
