According to clause 69, anyone who, through deceitful methods or by making a promise to marry a woman with no intention to fulfill the same, has sexual relations with her and such sexual relations do not amount to an offence of rape shall be punished by imprisonment of any description for a period of time.

It all depends upon how long since you know each other and duration of your relationship. If you are in good relationship and you propose a lady than it should not be punishable. You should be having atleast one proof of your relationship. Your proposal should not be aims to insult her.
