Does chain pulling in train come under crime

Good evening, One of my relatives has been arrested by RPF under section 141 of railways, for pulling the chain in a train. He has been imposed a fine of 1000 rs by the district court. He has been selected for govt. job, I want to ask you sir, will it create any problem for joining the job as the police verification will be done. Please reply. Thank you

yes, he may face issues during police verification in case he has not mentioned at the time of applying the job that he was punished by the District court.

Provided that in the absence of special and adequate reasons to the contrary to be mentioned in the judgment of the court, where a passenger without reasonable and sufficient cause, makes use of the alarm chain provided by a railway administration, such punishment shall not be less than -

a) a fine of five hundred rupees, in the case of conviction for the first offence; and

b) imprisonment for three months in case of conviction for the second or subsequent offence.

Though your relative has been convicted of an offence of chain pulling, it does not involve a crime in the nature of moral turpitude or of any jail term. So, it wont create any problem in job verification process.
