Defamation Case under Sec 499 and Sec 500 of IPC

Some residents of my residential complex are posting objectionable and defaming words like Mentally ill etc against me and my family in a Group in Telegram App. This is done deliberately to tarnish my image and defame me and my family infront of around 400 residents. I want to file a Defamation Criminal Case under Sec 499 and Sec 500 of IPC against these residents who have written such defaming words against me and my family without any evidence. Kindly suggest what options I have and what are my chances in such cases?
you can file the criminal case against the accused and If you file the case and prove it, then all the accused persons may be punished by the court of law and also you can claim of compensation from the accused.
